Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), one of the major coal-producing companies of India, has executed long-term Fuel Supply Agreements (FSAs) with National Thermal Power Corporation Limited for the supply of 5.0 Million Tonnes per annum (MTPA) of coal to NTPC’s Dadri, Farakka, Unchahar, and Nabinagar Thermal Power Stations.
The coal linkage under these agreements will play a crucial role in ensuring a reliable and uninterrupted fuel supply to key thermal power stations, enabling reliable power generation and strengthening the nation’s energy security.

The agreements were signed at the company headquarters in the presence of S.K. Jha, Director (Technical – OP & PP), MCL, by A.K. Lakra, General Manager (M&S), MCL; Diwakar Kaushik, Regional Executive Director (NR), NTPC; and Vijay Goel, Regional Executive Director (ER-I), NTPC.
This development marks a significant milestone in strengthening long-term fuel supply arrangements and deepening the strategic partnership between MCL and NTPC, contributing to the nation’s energy security.
